In response to our last question, What part of your job do you think is most important? our results were as follows:

• 48% of responses cited sterilization or decontamination:

"To make sure that all instruments that I sterilize are in fact cleaned and safe for the patient.""The decontamination process."

"You can clean without sterilizing, but you cannot sterilize without cleaning."

• 16% replied with service:

"Making a difference in people's lives."

"Servicing the public"

• 12% answered with education:

"As the Director of my department, educational development of my staff is most important..."

"Training of the staff and motivating them to keep the faith...."
