LIACS President Daniel Bialt held the LIACS Annual Business Luncheon Meeting at the 56th Fighter's Club Restaurant at Republic Airport in Huntington, Long Island. The Board of Directors and Committee chairpersons meet each year in January to review and discuss the year's activities and plan upcoming events.

Discussions centered around holding at least four or five monthly educational meetings in 2012, in addition to hosting our Long Island Annual Seminar and Vendor Exhibits, co-hosting the IAHCSMM two-day Northeast Regional Meeting with the MACSA, and a Saturday "Learn Around," which involves our vendors speaking on their specialty venues – an offering that has become very popular with attendees each year.

The Chapter's 2012 social calendar will repeat the holiday party, which follows the December Educational Meeting. We will also be adding a BBQ Beach or Pool Party during the summer and, hopefully, utilize a "Discussion Forum" that focuses on a hot CSSD topic to provide an educational slant to this fun event! In July, we will be bringing back our Annual Golf Outing, after a one-year sabbatical in 2011.

We are also looking forward to working with our fellow New York State chapters as we continue our quest for CSSD certification in New York.

We are looking forward to a great 2012 and seeing all of our old and new friends at the IAHCSMM Annual Conference in Albuquerque, NM, in April!

Our Meeting Calendar

Our Association's members are Central Service practitioners who perform duties on one or more functional areas of materiel management, supply processing and distribution. Most environments include the technical functions of reprocessing, decontamination, disinfection, preparation, packaging, sterilization and distribution. The body of knowledge associated with these highly technical functions is referred to as Central Service Technology. We're based on Long Island, New York.
