The Kansas Society for Healthcare Central Service Professionals was honored to co-sponsor its first 2011 Workshop with 3M Infection Prevention. Sterile U speakers Kim Bamburg and Joseph LeBouef presented a three-hour seminar on the effectiveness of steam sterilization and updates on best practices in sterilization monitoring. More than 40 CS/SP/OR professionals from across Kansas attended the workshop.
Our Annual General Membership Conference will once again be held at the Annual Central Plains Expo. The Expo is a joint effort of four Kansas healthcare professional organizations to be conducted September 22-23, 2011. It consists of two days of educational opportunities, a vendor fair and, of course, a wonderful opportunity for Kansas professionals to network with others in their field. This year, our speakers will be Chuck Hughes of SPSmedical Supply Corp., James Mena of Intercon Chemical Company and Joe Pfankuch of Stryker Instruments. Topics will range from recommended practices to care and handling of power equipment. We look forward to seeing all of our members at CPE.
