The Indiana University Health Central Service Program graduated 14 students June 10, 2011. Chapter president David Mathis spoke to the graduates and welcomed them to the chapter—and also invited them to participate in IAHCSMM. The graduates are Alisha Baker, Debra Foster, Marilyn Hamilton, J. Brooke Hemmer, Amber Houk, Jeanine McCraney, Angela Miner, Jamie Pitner, Angela Porter, Dawn Roberts, Anthony Sanders, Tracy Silvers, Kathi Williams, and Kaylynn Wolfgang. Twelve of the 14 graduates have signed up for the certification exam; four have already taken the exam and passed! Several are now studying to take the CIS exam.

IAHCSMM Instructors Anita Cassell and Mollye Banks started a new class July 12. They have a class of 12 IU Health Sterile Processing employees. IAHCSMM Instructor Lori German is working on starting a class in Anderson, IN.

President Message

On behalf of the Central Indiana Chapter of IAHCSMM I am proud to say we are definitely a Chapter on the move.  Down from the President to each and every chapter member, the evidence of support and dedication to our Chapter is shown on every member.  The Central Indiana Chapter to me is like a baby that has grown into a productive adult.  When I think of where we have come from to where we are today I beam with pride and joy.

Our Chapter has won runner up for Chapter of the year as well as large Chapter of the year.  Our fall conference held on Oct 8, 2010 was our best yet.  There were 129 attendees, 15 vendor exhibits and outstanding speakers who delivered the most recent information on what’s new in central sterile.  Each year that passes the evidence of our growth as a Chapter and the determination to ensure that our members are well informed will keep us moving steadily forward into the next decade and beyond.
